Calving and Calves

This image shows an incredible part of a cows life and how they live. We own cows so make them captive but as they don't live in our true care 100% of the time their lives can be on the knives edge. Here you have shown that exact point really well. I really like the composition and how you have got the cows pin sharp behind the snow. A great image, and worthy winner. Congratulations.

This is one of those images that ask you to look at it and keep on looking. I like the way the calf has cheekily looked over its shoulder to look at the camera as it has added a lot to the image. I love how the mother (or Dad) has a slight parting allowing just enough of its eye to be uncovered so as to keep an eye on its calf. A great image, well done.
