Young Bird Photographer of the Year 2018

In association with The Cameron Bespolka Trust

Open Rating Results

This free to enter category is for photographers under 16 only. The Cameron Bespolka Young Bird Photographer of the Year Award aims to encourage and recognise the younger generation of birders and photographers, and is an important element of the competition's ethos.

There are no individual subject categories to worry about; the judges will choose the image that impresses them most. And there is nothing preventing you from entering the main Bird Photographer of the Year competition too, as this competition has no age restriction. But standard entry fees apply for all entrants to the main competition.

Only open to photographers under the age of 16 on or before 30 November 2017.

The judged shortlist will be announced 9 January 2018.

£650 worth of prizes to be won including Swarovski CL Companion 8x30 binoculars and the title of Young Bird Photographer of the Year 2018.

Prize details

The photographer of the winning image will receive £350, a pair of Swarovski CL Pocket 8x25 binoculars and the title of Young Bird Photographer of the Year.

The runner-up will receive £200.

3rd place will receive £100.

How it works

Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. In this contest, the entries are hidden until the rating period begins.

Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
