Capturing Movement in the City

This photo has a great nostalgic feel of a night shot in the city. It is easy to feel the vibrancy of the nighttime traffic and people walking the streets. The reflections on the sidewalk add to create a post rain feel.

This photo captures the spirit of the competition. It shows a vibrant city marked by building on both sides of a river and movement of kayakers after a fireworks celebration. The slow shutter speed creates color streaks that show fast movement accentuated by leading lines that naturally move the viewer's eye to the nighttime skyline. The star filter on the building lights adds a nice detail to the building lights as well.

This is an incredible photo! The photo is surreal as the road is nearly devoid of cars but filled with moving people. The one still figure in the commotion showcases the people moving all around her. The use of a slow shutter speed created an almost ghost like movement in the crossing.

There are multiple levels of movement in this photo. The design of the buildings creates an illusion of the buildings dancing. The use of filters to bring out the blue night sky and the sparkle of the streetlamps is well done.
