1st - well done. An arresting composition; careful selection of subject, composition and planning - Weather conditions - windy and clear, Timing - Dusk for colour and long exposure, Observation - all of the above assisting in creating an arresting idea about landscape and time, excellent post production too!.

This image just got my attention as it is a very subtle composition and when I looked at it in detail I could appreciate that it is very competently executed too. This image has a drawing - like quality about it.

3rd - well done. Another image with its own timeless quality. as well as a strong human component (not common in this contest).

It is an unusual composition; The subject is very simply explored and classically located (think thirds and reading across the frame). This is a carefully composed land scape and then thoughtfully captured - shutter speed set to show something dynamic in an otherwise "still life".

The scale of the subject is interesting too; This is a big picture capturing very near to very far; very stylish!.

2nd - well done. A really good example of an elevational type of composition. The long lens effect has flattened this landscape by reducing scale of the subject and in the process giving you the viewer so much information to take in; one just keeps looking in at this image. There is a timeless quality to this image too.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Rapidly becoming historical artifacts, chimneys range from the purely functional to the architectural statement. Views over the rooftops aren't always the easiest to come by. When you do get that view, a telephoto lens offers the opportunity to stack chimneys at different distances together into one frame.
