Chose this image for coming up with something different. I've seen these balls advertised but not used one myself. The result is interesting. I'll have to have a god at this myself sometime when I get one of these crystal balls.

Well exposed sharp image of the Christmas Lights in Edimburgh. Colours are excellent which is no mean feat as the LED lights often turn white when photographed and it needs a lot of skill to bring the colours back. Well done.

Nice symmetrical image of a house with Christmas Lights, but would have preferred the image to have been taken from slightly further back without the converging verticals. I realise that straightening the image as taken would have spoilt the composition by cutting off the bushes..

Lovely image looking down on Bratislava's Christmas Market taken shortly after sunset. Exposure excellent with the market and the castle showing plenty of detail as well as the UFO Tower to the left.. I don't actually like removing things but on this occasion the image would look nicer without the crane to the left of the UFO Tower. This could easily be removed. Well done for earning a place in the Top 10.

Lovely symmetrical image, no converging verticals - would make a lovely Christmas Card. I also liked the starbursts on the street lamps. A few cars in the background give human interest but are not too intrusive. All in all a very nice photograph.

I liked this view of Oxford Street with the traffic trails and the lights of the passing bus, but no actual vehicles are visible apart from those by the traffic lights. The warm colours also enhance the scene and give contrast with the bright white overhead lights.

Lovely symmetrical Christmas image. Again I think it would make a beautiful Christmas Card. South Molton Street is not as well known as Oxford Street, but being pedestrianised gives a nice traffic tree view. A well-deserved First Place for what I consider to be an outstanding image.

Beautiful image. Only minor point is the brightness of the street lamp, but probably not much could be done about that. Otherwise it would make a beautiful Christmas Card. A close call, but I've given this a well-deserved Second Place.

I liked the idea of looking down but in many ways I feel this image is too busy with too much information. It would have been nice to see the bottom of the escalator, but I realise that was probably not possible. Well done for producing something different.

For this contest I would like to see images of the Christmas Lights villages, towns and cities throughout the world. The images can be of lit Christmas Trees or the lights festooned above the road. Lights at events, for example Winter Wonderland, can also be included as can Individual houses. Some streets really go to town and the houses compete with one another for the biggest, brightest display. Minimal photoshop, no adding things that weren't there, just enough manipulation to improve the image.

This lovely image taken during the blue hour is beautiful. Exposure is spot on with only one slightly burnt out area, which is the back of Santa's Sleigh, otherwise everyting is spot on. Again if this was my house I'd use this image for a Christmas Card. A truly beautiful image.
