Classical Architecture (Exteriors)

November 2024

This is a great shot, really nice and punchy and the colours work really well to draw the viewers eye straight to it.

Your choice of treatment for the image I think works really well and definitely helps with the autumnal colours.

You've got a beautiful image here and I would have loved to have seen what it looked like without the retouching you have done to it.

The colours all work really well together and the balance of the sunrise which draws your eye towards the centre of the image and the blue of the sky above is great.

The colours on this image are beautiful and the moment I saw it I knew it had to be in my top 10.

The lilac and purple hues are perfectly balanced with the warmth of the Jefferson Memorial and the whole image is exposed really well to show it all off.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Classical architecture is that which either is, or is more or less derived from, the Greek and Roman architecture of classical antiquity. Almost any architectural style up until the advent of modernism will contain classical elements and influences, and is welcome in this contest. So whether you know your Doric from your Ionic, if you've been shooting the exteriors of old buildings then you should have something to enter.
