Close up wonders

What a stunning shot! At first I wondered what an aerial landscape image seemingly taken from a drone or plane was doing in this category. Nevertheless, I was seduced by the vibrant colours and wonderful abstract qualities before the penny dropped, and I realised I was actually looking at a macro perspective of a thermal pool at Yellowstone National Park. I love the disarming sense of scale this miniature landscape reveals, and the awe-inspiring wonder it evokes.
