Great contest!

I absolutely love this double exposure effect you used to emphasize the mood of this forest. I certainly plan to give this a try too. Congrats on the stunning photos you are working on for your series. I hope to see more of them. Thanks for sharing these in my contest.

This lone man is huddled into his coat while the snow falls around him in rather dark light Sure looks chilled and lonely. I hope he gets home soon to pour himself a brandy and sit by the fire. Great mood created in this photo, and nicely composed. Thanks for entering my contest. Too bad the lamp lights weren’t on.

Here, the lone tree with wind whipping up the snow around it made me feel chilly right away. I needed a hot cup of tea to continue judging after this one. This is beautifully composed and looks like the wind was definitely on your side as it stirred up the snow. Thanks for entering the contest.

I didn’t consider many portraits for this contest, but this one does define “cold” very well. The fur, the snowflakes, the softness of the blues and whites, even down to the blue lips, make this an excellent portrait. I stopped to linger every time I looked at it again. Thank you for entering this contest.

Im in love with this shot, with that brown little face popping out of the deep white snow. His ears are flying behind him, so I’m guessing he’s in a hurry to get out of that wet stuff and back in his house. The photo is well composed, beautifully sharp, and you’ve captured the action well.

I can’t pass this one without stopping to look. I just love the mood you’ve created, with the softness of the lighting, and the predominant use of blue and white. The sky makes a perfect backdrop for the frosty winter scene. Thanks for sharing!

Great candid street shot. This one definitely embodies the theme of “cold”. I shiver just looking at the pained expression on the woman’s face. Nice choice to create this in Black and White. I like how the woman is sharp and the rest blurs out behind her. Thank you for entering this contest, and I’m happy to have had the chance to view this photo.

I really love this one. The white on white with some blue is a very effective way to capture the essence of cold. I love how there is so much empty space and the people are far in the distance. Love the composition and lighting. It all works well together.

This is a stunning photo. The earthy colours of the rocks in the background contrast beautifully with the icy flows in the foreground. The lighting is perfect to emphasize the sheen of the ice. All in all, a well composed and interesting photo. Thank you very much for entering my contest.

This was another very creative shot, involving the overlay of two separate photos. The effect is gorgeous. I’d does appear to be a snowy owl in the midst of a snowstorm. The softness of the colours and the adorable tilt of his head causes me to smile. Well done, bravo for creativity.

That’s a lot of snow! The red shovel adds a nice pop of colour in an otherwise monochromatic photo. I wonder, did the owner of the shovel just give up and go inside? I think I would! A very nicely composed photo, definitely worthy of a commendation. Thanks for entering the contest.
