The choice to shoot this garden image after the light of the day has faded is an inspired one. We love the unique balance of light and shadow and the way the natural colours have been rendered by the artificial lighting. A highly atmospheric shot, which makes us dream of late summer walks.

While down low works well, so too does a high point of view. We don't know if this was shot from a bridge of a drone, but the vertical pitch of the camera offers a dizzying and abstract view of people interacting with a colourful garden palette. Nicely seen and captured.

Not all gardens have walls, as this wildflower study demonstrates. It's not quite a wild landscape, but nor is it a cultivated garden. We loved this contradiction and the golden colours really jumped out, while the lone figure adds an intriguing human element. Nicely seen and put together.

What an eye-grabbing shot! It's not the first time we've seen a carpet of flowers in a contest such as this, but the composition and vibrance of these examples really stood out to us. The fiery red border compliments the deep colour palette and the strong perspective really leads in the eye.
