We all responded to this photograph, not only for its immediacy and filling of the brief, but also for the amount of information held within it. The framing of the football supporters all in unison, identifying themselves as a collective group looking up as the framed picture of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gazes upwards in the opposite direction is a great composition and capturing of a moment in time.

We all felt this was a wonderfully happy image of a class of school children. Despite being crammed into a space which is probably unsafe they all seem to be having a blast. A great collection of facial expressions, as well. All unified with their school uniforms we could all connect to this and be reminded of our own school days.
We all felt this was a great capture of real life, unposed, casual and uncommon. This is a great unguarded communal moment and as a result, a refreshing change. We all felt that we could see the close and comfortable relationships between these men. Also, the mixture of tribal fabric and modern clothing shows the cultural connections they all share.
We all loved this powerful depiction of worship at a mosque. The colourful clothing combined with the elegant architecture proved to be a strong compositional choice and at an angle which is unexpected. We all felt that this viewpoint worked perfectly to capture the maximum number of people as well as displaying this community's common link.

We found the poignant imagery of what was left behind here as the camps were cleared acted as a sombre reminder of those whose lives were lost also – as the sleeping bag at first glance appeared like a figure wrapped for burial. The way in which it also blended with the ground, taking on the colour of the earth is a sobering thought of being returned to the earth after death.
