This was a beautiful contest! There are numerous amazing flower photos. I chose this diptych because of the colours, the lighting, the sharpness, the composition, the background, and simplicity of the template. The bud behind the first flower and the green leaves behind the second flower are perfect accents. Well done number one!
Gladiolus are amazing flowers, and this photographer maximized their beauty. The yellow flower next to the orange flower provides spectacular contrast. The lighting and depth of field are spot on. The thin lines of the diptych template limit distraction. The overlapping petals of the Glads make them unique and encourage lingering examination. Great shots with great flowers.
