There is so much feeling in this photo! I love a photo that tells a story. Combine it with great clarity, composition, and an emotional component and that's what I see here. I love where the dog is situated along the road waiting in the snow; it emanates a feeling of longing, as though the dog is watching for his mom and dad to get home maybe? Truly a well deserved first place!
There is so much in this image that kept me coming back again and again!
First, the totally crisp image of the eye, nose, tongue, and teeth make me stop and look. Then the position of the tongue, the drop of saliva, the eye looking straight up make me stay and come back. VERY unusual and interesting shot. Well done!
Lovely composition, with the snow accenting the dog and contrasting against the bokeh behind. It's soft and sweet, with a tinge of melancholy. Clarity is fabulous, with both the dog's nose and eyes in focus. I sat and looked at this for a long time, watching snow falling on this dog in his later years. Poetic. Wonderful photo.

I really love everything about this photo. Diesel laying with his head between his paws, his look says he's seen and heard a lot in his day. I love him and I wish I could scratch behind his ears! Great composition, love the texture and that there is great focus from the nose to the ears. A frameable piece of art.
A very interesting moment frozen in time. I love this photo. The look on Boo's face...raised eyebrows, not necessarily fear, maybe curiosity tinged with a good dose of "what have I gotten myself into?" Such clear focus with the bee hovering in front of Boo. A+ for clarity and storytelling...now we all want to know what happened after Boo's encounter!

This is soft and sweet, and makes me wonder what Teddy is thinking about. The composition is lovely and I like that Teddy isn't in the middle of the photo, but instead just a little off center. The bokeh is nice and helps to put him right up front with a shallow depth of field. Very pretty. Nice Job
