Domestic and Residential Interiors

June 2022

Nicely lit shot and the tones work really well for the wood of the room.

I like the fact the whites are white great colour correction and handling of the different lighting sources.

My only slight critiscm is that the sky outside looks a little fake, tone that blue down a bit and it would be more believable.

Nice image, beautiful natural shape which is really pleasing on the eye.

I would maybe have liked to see it with a crop/second shot which aligns a little more with the rule of thirds but it's a really good photo.

This photograph reminds me of an Escher painting with the stairs going upside down.

Wonderful graphic shot and the pops of colour make it stand out.

I would have either liked the people fully blurred (around a 1/2 second shutter speed) or static, at the moment they're a bit too in-between for me but lovely shot.

Strong image with a heavy graphic design element which works really well to draw the viewer in.

Almost works as an optical illusion with the use of perspective and the pop of colour at the back really brings the image together.

This image is so different from anything else in this competition so it really stood out.

"Alice" at the bottom of the stairs really makes this and she is perfectly framed by all the stairs, works really well in black and white too!

This image makes me think, which is always a good thing, not sure if it's upside down or shot through a mirror but definitely has me scratching my head!

The colours at the bottom of the stairs work well to draw the viewers eyes through the image.

Really nice clean shot, good handling of off camera flash which makes the whites really stand out.

It would be good to put a bit more light into the shower as it's a little dark compared to the rest of the room and the show goes the wrong way but it does draw the viewers eyes towards the bath tub.

Also, can see your shoe in the table leg ;)

Gorgeous shot with strong leading lines.

I really like a graphic shot and this ticks all the boxes!

I would have liked a little bit of movement on a couple of the people just to draw my eyes around a bit but i'm guessing it wasn't a place you could just get a tripod out.

Great shot!

Beautiful shot, as a thumbnail this really stood out and had me asking more!

The colours work really well and are balanced really well across the frame, it was a close call on which spot of the top two this took.

Spooky shot, would love to know if this was set up or if you just stumbled across this scene?

The shaft of light coming in is beautiful and I really like the yellow tones to it, the colour adds a lot to the shot.

Really nice shot, love the black and white treatment on this, works really well and brings out the tones of the image.

I feel this would work really in a series and it definitely leaves me wanting to see more.

Beautiful image that instantly stood out to me as a winner!

It tells an amazing story and the depth of field and choice to use black and white and the tones that comes with it really add to the image.

Nice shot that wouldn't be out of place in a high end kitchen magazine.

The blur on the subject is spot on and draws the viewer across the image, left to right is always good for a western audience.

Good attention to details with the chairs spaced evenly too!

Really nice shot which is well lit and the tones are handled really well.

The cushions need a bit of work as they look a little like they're about to fall off the sofa but the yellow pop of colour does add to the image.
