Absolutely stunning photograph of my favourite bird species! Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for the species, they are listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, meaning they are not a threatened species.
CITES Appendix II species are those which are not endangered but still have their trade regulated to prevent endangerment of the species and harm to their wild population.
As beautiful as your photo is, it sadly does not meet my competition brief. If this was a contest of all Australian species, this photo would most certainly be at least within the top 20. Thank you for entering anyway and I hope you have a wonderful day!
As beautiful as this photo is with its composition, lighting and crisp focus, it does not meet my competition's project brief on endangered Australian species, as the laughing kookaburra is not listed as endangered and is actually thriving, which is great to see! If this was a competition on Australian species in general, your entry would be in at least the top 20.
Thank you for participating in my photo competition regardless, and I hope you havw a wonderful day!
