I do like this shot. It's not technically perfect. But as it's a moment you've snapped rather than a set up photo, that doesn't matter. I love the way you've captured the flaming Christmas pudding and the movement in the background.

Great composition and use of depth of field. Of course the cake also looks delicious! I think you've successfully achieved your goal, that 40mm is a lovely little lens.

I like your set up. The lighting could potentially be improved by playing around a little, maybe try this setup without using a white card to fill the light. Don't be afraid of shade and shadows. You could also play around with the direction of light, moving it slightly behind the subject.

Well done, great shot!

This is a great set up, well done. I love the composition and lighting and it's a nice use of props. The main reason I couldn't award higher is because it's not as in keeping with the festive theme as other entries.

There are some smells and tastes that instantly remind us of Christmas, and certain drinks and dishes that feel just plain odd to have at any other time of the year. Get into the spirit of Christmas by sending us your photos of festive food and drink.

What a great idea for a shot! You've captured this really well, the exposure and depth of field are perfect. The only way I think this could be improved would be to have seen more of the overall set up rather than cropping as tightly. Well done!

This was very close to being commended as I really like the concept and the set up. The composition could be played around with a little to loosen it up but that's just a personal preference. One way you could improve the shot is by changing the angle of light to create a bit more drama. Great idea for a set up though!
