You have clearly thought about your layout and lighting, the composition has a lot of promise. I like the main light source coming from the top of the picture, however, the mixed orange light coming from the bottom, and reflected in the cutlery is a little confused and draws my eye too much. Otherwise, love the pic. Great job.

Great composition and texture to this shot. It almost feels cinematic. I think you could have really taken this shot to the next level, with a little adjustment to the white balance. Make those pinks and greens really stand out. Yellow light isn't great for showing off food, so it has to be used with caution and for a purpose. Nice effort though, and keep up the good work.

Such an eye-catching picture. I love how you have filled the frame. The soft light shows off the cracking, floured, crusty surface of these loaves and adds to the intriguing pattern made by the swirls left on their surface. It really takes the eye on a journey. Wonderful shot.

As Fine Foods go Lobster is definitely up there. I love this elegant shot, so much detail and storytelling in this picture. The composition is great, with the black mirrored reflection giving it a touch of finesse. The choice to focus on just the tail leaves you wanting to see more and the soft lighting really shows off the texture and lustre of shell. You can really imagine the feel of it. Great shot.

I love this plate of food purely for how edible it looks! I really just want to punch my knife into one of the yolks! The composition is wonderful but the real winner for me is the plate. It sets off the food really well and the colours of the food punch right off it. As a general rule, blue plates are always great with food, as the colours rarely match or blend! I was amazed to see that the shot was taken on an iPhone but that just shows it's not the camera, but what you do with it that matters. Keep it up, and keep finding that great light.

This image is satisfyingly clean. Love the soup colour punching through like sunshine. Consider adding a few extra details - a little greenery on the surface or melting butter on the bread makes it all the more moreish. But if you want to keep it clean, maybe adjusting the spoon a little to the right, so it more evenly mirrors the bread would give you a crisper Wes Anderson feel to the composition.

One of the defining characteristics of 'fine food' is an added attention to its presentation and the way it looks on the plate. The very best food photography is all about getting those taste buds watering, and haute cuisine is overflowing with creative and artistic ways of doing just that. We can all appreciate high quality food set out in a flawless and imaginative way; but how many can do it justice by photographing it like a pro?
