This image is full to the brim of captivating dynamism and three-dimensionality.
The building, rightly photographed at an angle for depth, is elegantly defined by the smoke and halo of the fireworks.
The cyan-tinted halo doesn't only stop the building from blending in with the night sky, but also beautifully contrasts the red fireworks, creating a colour combination that is pleasing and visually striking against the black sky.
This is a one of a kind image that I thoroughly enjoyed looking at. Well done!
Unique subjects and captivating dynamism characterise this one of a kind image. There was no shot quite like it in this contest.
The composition, following the rule of thirds, is balanced through the placement of the two women on either side of the frame and the fireworks one third in. The smoke in the sky, billowing towards the upper corner of the frame, adds an element of interest that also works in harmony with the composition.
The women's skirts, in motion, draw pretty shapes against the night sky, their silhouettes and the folds of their gowns beautifully highlighted by the fireworks.
This image is a feast for the eyes, an alluring blend of light, fantasy and movement.

In a contest where most other shots focused on colour, fireworks in centre stage in the foreground, this image appears to be breaking all the rules - and what a joy that is.
Whereas it's easy to tell it's fireworks we're looking at, the photographer managed to capture them in a way that is less obvious, more abstract, and visually striking.
What I love the most about this shot is this: the fireworks allow the tree silhouettes to be visible, and the tree silhouettes make the fireworks look like beautiful abstract leaves in return. No element works without the other. But together they give context and poetic meaning to one another.
This is one of those photos that I'll remember for some time to come. A capture very well deserving of its place in the top ten. Well done!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Fireworks can make for amazing photography, and are a great way to use shutter speed creatively. Done well, images of fireworks convey the excitement and wonder of the fireworks display, whether it's a small box that you let off in your own backyard, or a huge public display that takes your breath away.
