Flat Lay Food Photography (in colour)

Wow, the colours in this image are beautifully put together. A busy image telling the viewer what went into making that cake and a great way to showcase the final result. A lovely bright and fresh image. I was originally drawn to the colours purple and yellow so a nice addition with the petals. Congratulations on Judge 2nd and thanks for entering.

Thankyou to everyone who entered this contest. This image for me is a real 'stand out' image. Its fresh, sharp and colourful. The colours red and green are very well balanced on the black background. You have composed it really well, and I love the odd numbers of tomatoes on each side. I don't know if it was intentional but the odd number continues with 3 sprigs of rosemary and then one at the top, along with 3 leaves of basil on the soup. I love the fun element to this image. As a child you would be told not to play with your food, but why? This is the type of thing that can be put together when feeding a fussy child. I hope you don't mind me saying, I think a blue plate may have helped the 'starfish' and 'jellyfish' stand out more but it really is inventive. Well done.

I love the rustic look of this image. There's nothing more enjoyable than 'proper' bread and a noggin of cheese. Its a well composed image and the natural slate background compliments the bread and cheese. A nicely layered flat lay image with the extra piece of slate for the cheese. I like that you have continued the rustic look with the greaseproof paper and string. overall a nice, wholesome image. Thankyou for entering and congratulations on judge 3rd place.
