The details in this image are striking. The details of the color patterns on the wings of the moth, the hairs on the legs of the moth, the moth's round eye, and even the silky threads spiders used to connect flowers together add to the overall composition. The limited colors are well saturated and the image is well cropped.
Every exquisite detail of this butterfly is in focus. The background, being completely out of focus, really helps draw the eye into the subjects. The lighting is good. The image is cropped well. More narrative details from the photographer would have been appreciated. From the details provided, the challenges were overcome very well as there is no distortion evident from the movement.
This image caught my eye originally because the bee is mostly in focus while in flight, which I know can be difficult to achieve. The bee appears to be flying toward the stamen in the center with some pollen already caught in its hairs. I had to zoom in to see the second insect. What a delightful little surprise! Three of the petals have soft focus while two are sharper. There is even a grain of pollen on the lower petal. A few narrative details from the photographer would have been appreciated.
In this image, the flower descending from the top of the frame gives it a uniqueness which helps it to stand apart from the others in this contest, which is rich with phenomenal photos. Both the insect and the flower are in focus and the image is cropped well using the rule of thirds. The lighting from the left and the background out of focus add to the quality of the composition.

The backlighting made this photo stand out in a crowd of truly amazing photos. The dusky light bathes the image in a deep warmth. Some of the stamen are out of focus - whether that is intentional or not is unclear. The petals and sepals are soft on the front edges and sharper towards the back. The subjects are placed in the image using the rule of thirds which provides a pleasing balance to the overall composition. The written narrative provided by the photographer is also greatly appreciated! Thank you for sharing this remarkable image!
