However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Close-up photography is nearly always a must for shots of insects, and in this contest we want you to submit photos of all those insects that fly. They’re small, intricate and detailed, and need equipment that will do them justice. What's more, airborne insects can move very quickly and in unpredictable directions. For more dramatic photos, don’t be afraid to think creatively. Your image might be more striking if it includes a bright flower or some kind of activity. Be patient and see what nature delivers!
