Just absolutely gorgeous!
Subtle in pastels, gorgeous light, soft with mist.... this is the ideal Mist and Fog image. The chroma is obviously big in this, but still belevable.
I like the comp, too... the crop works without leaving anything hanging or pulling you out of frame. Hard to do with all those leaves and branches...
Overall, just a joy yo look at- I just love staring at this!

This is a special image. It stands out so much. So mysterious and so individual.
I just LOVE looking at this... that is something very special in a photo. It draws you in and mnakes you WANT to stare at it. SO rare in an image!

I like this image a LOT. I have some problems with it, too.... and that is cool. Just because I would ahve doner this image different does not mean your treatment is wrong- it is just we see things different (and that is GOOD). And I am not going to knock this down because my tastes are different.
So first what I like. I think the exposure was tricky, and I think you just totally nailed this hard exposure. The faint sun is perfect. The color is beautifully misty. Just great.
WHast I hate: the crop. I am NOT going to rag on you about a centered item- I could care less. But I DO think there is too much dead speace. Maybe bottom. Maybe right. But too much.
But I will respect yuour decision about the crop.

I love the mood here so much. The call on maing in B&W is so right on- shades of Carol Reed and The Third Man.

I love the contrast in color of this image. A LOT...
The colors in this work so well.
The mist in this adds so much- mist is a major character in this. I think in a contest all about mist and fog, when you make the mist so instumrntal you really get at the heart of this contest!

I just think this is phenominal.
I could not help but recognize this image in the judging for this contest. I like to see a variety of things, and I want to judge a lot of different things as winners. No one else sent in abstract so I really wanted to make this finish in the top ten!

However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Photographing fog or mist can lend an atmospheric, moody feel to your subjects, but it’s also very easy to end up with shots that look washed-out or flat. Be aware that shooting in fog will make scenes less defined and can affect the contrast and colour saturation, too. Think of fog as a natural soft box and use it, creatively, to your advantage.
Mr. Light Touch.
Dand this is so subtle its spiritual. White on White is SO HARD. You pulled that off MAGNIFICENTLY here... just a beautiful job of editing.
The original shot is awesome, too.... splitting therm 2 and 3 balances the comp nicely. The SUPER low angle works really well, too. The bows all making perfectly vertical lines is really a nice bonus, too....
I will be blunt- I dont know if I could have seen this, much less shot it this well, or developed it this nicely.

I'll be honest- I went back and forth on this image as I was judging. You were in and out of the top ten a few times.
Ultimately I decided....
On a different image for the top ten. But I really liked this one a lot.
I think what ended up killing this was just too much STUFF in it. Too many distractions. leaves bottom vcenter, wood tructure middle right, just a lot of things competeing for attention. Crop this bad boy, make it about one things.... I bet it is a stronger image then!

The good news- I REALLY liked your image! Your shot made the first cut... so it hit me that you were doing something right here (and most probably, more than one thing!)
The bad news- I had to limit the winners to a top ten images, and your did not make that cut.
So know your image is good, very good. But I just like some others a bit more.
Perhaps I am wrong! Anyway, if you want specific thoughts about this image, just drop me a line...

This is such a sweet image. I was going through all the images for this contest, and seeing which would be winners.... and I totally stopped on this. VERY impressive image!
Then I saw that smudge on the lower left.
I just cant give this an award with that in the frame.... but I gotta tell ya how much I loved this image anytway...

I like this image a lot. the contrast of the gold light in the foireground and the cool light iof the fog is great- the contrast makes this very interesting.
I am in the final stages of judging the fog and mist contest, and I was looking at this. And it deserves to be up there in the finals.
So the first thing I notice is the exsessive noise in the image.... ISO 100 should not be this noisy. Weird.
Anyway, the one part that I did not like was the upper left- the power lines ruin the whole mood the rest opf the image makes. Its pretty easy to pop those out in Lr or Ps... I would do that!
