This is a rather simple setup but if you’ll excuse the pun, it’s berry effective! The time Pete took to set up his lights was well worth it as the bright catchlights on the shiny berry's give the image extra depth and texture. The red raspberry really pops out at you too and is the clear focal point in this image - great work!
Nadia's photo of tomato soup in a red pot just goes to show that sometimes the simplist compositions work best. She's chosen to go very minimal and it's really paid off - the black background is clean and totally black so there aren't any distractions and the eye is instantly drawn towards the red pot and lid with the vibrant green basil leaf an obvious focal point. Top job!

Kim's different approach to the theme of 'Food Glorious Food' is what makes it stand out as the winner this month, as it's a fantastically creative and well executed portrait with food being an integral part of the setup. It looks like a very challenging shoot with lots of moving parts to oversee and direct so our hats go off to him for bringing it all together and getting this winning shot.
Combining action with food photography isn’t an easy job but that’s exactly Jacqui has managed to do with her vibrant image of three peppers being dropped into a tank of water. She made sure that all three were dropped at the same in a line so they can all be seen and sit level with each other, she also used a fast shutter speed of 1/200 sec and flash to freeze them so they came out pin sharp - we love it!

Zulma clearly has a very appetising focal point that certainly caught my eye. The exposure looks good and the burger is nice and sharp, but I think the composition could work stronger if she had got a little closer to crop out the messy background and also got a more eye-level perspective with the plate. The lighting also looks a little a flat, and a golden reflector would really help add lift this picture.
