An exciting image and a tense moment encapsulated. The image is sharp and the fear of injury almost palpable as the bullock/bull jumps over the rodeo rider. The only criticism, which is beyond the photographers control in this case, it that the background is very 'busy' which perhaps undermines the impact of the shot? A great capture, nonetheless.

I like this shot very much. The background mural, the clothes of the model blended with the background colours, the shadow and her hair, of course, frozen in time. The composition, thought behind the image, her position, the timing and setting all add to its visual impact. An image to take pride in. Well done.

This, quite simply, is an incredible shot! The sharpness, detail, composition and a moment encapsulated - it is all here! The features of the gannets competing for the fish, together with the water droplets 'frozen' in time and the heads of the birds emerging from the melee, made this image stand apart. Well done!

I love this. The black background, the bright red material (red toenails!) and the water droplets very sharply frozen. The composition is superb. A work of art which is easy on the eye and is exciting to photograph. The shedding of water from fabric and body have helped to create a work of art. Well done.

I just loved this shot. The expression on his face, the crispness of the image and the cards frozen in mid flight. The framing and composition is superb and the background in muted tones ensures that the subject and his actions are the focus of the viewer's eye. Super sharp, cool and pertinent. A truly commendable shot.

Brooks lodge is a well known place to catch the bears catching salmon. This shot is perfect! The bear is sharply in focus with mouth open awaiting its prey. The image is very well composed and framed with a high shutter speed to freeze the moment. The detail is outstanding and so too the image. Well done.

This is simply a great capture. The eagle, wings in contact with the water and the reflection of the bird. I love the dark muted tones of the water surface which make the bird stand out and even more so where the wings touch and create a marked contrast. The water droplets and eagle are sharp and fulfil the criteria for the competition. Well done.

Freeze motion photography is a popular and deceptively simple technique where a photographer using a high shutter speed is able to "freeze" the trajectory of an object moving at a certain speed within a scene, showing a clear and focused snapshot of the action. In order to keep maximum focus, some pre-planning is involved, so do some research and show us what you can do.
