The full-length portrait shot is arguably the most difficult to get right, and therefore one of the most worthwhile for a photographer to master! The interactions between the various elements (body, expressions, background, pose) and how they come into play means you may have to put a bit more thought into composition and lens selection. Start with the basics and go from there.
