Fungi Without Gills (in colour)

I found that the bright red colour of these Scarlet Elfcups set against the lush green of the carpet of moss made for such a striking image. For me this photograph was especially relevant to the brief as I thought it captured the diversity of both shape and colour in the world of fungi. Thank you for entering your image!

With the fern frond framing the polypore, the detail of the beech leaf as well as the bokeh, this image seemed to me to capture a beautiful forest scene.
