The curves in the little dragon are are perfect for distorting the straight white and red stripes (assume they are on a monitor). Because they do, in fact, appear to be illuminated, they provide the right amount of backlighting to produce and interesting effect and the photo maintains some nice dark areas due to the dark surface below.
This photo was a bit hard to follow at first but I love the abstract composition and especially the fact that is fills the frame, which is appropriate for this sinuous, curving object. The use of a middle stop such a f/10 for a closeup works well here, as it blurs the background properly to add depth but preserves enough to make the whole composition of geometric interest. The play of colour and light is also lovely. Congratulations.
This phot stood out not only for he pleasing use of starburst flare, but also due to the great choice of background. The turquoise colouration seems to make the parrots look more authentic than a black or white background and the soft glowing blur along with the highlighted perch is jus tthe right touch.
Regardless of whether the starry sky background is real or a backdrop, I liked this conceptual phot for the combination of the objects and the angle of the lighting. The cats eyes pop out eerily and the lamppost "light" has a little flare that imitates real illumination. The angle is perfect for suggesting looking somewhat up but not at an extremely high object, like per person lifting their head slightly.
I loved this cat staring at the little glass cat on a pillow like he or she doesn't quite know what to make of it. In this case, full depth of field works very well, as the real cat' lovely eyes show up in detail The half obstruction of its nose by the glass cat is a perfect placement. Congratulations.
This contest was difficult to judge as most of the photos were simply of an object without much context. Bu this glassblower stood out, especially for the selective focus and also the object itself. It was very good timing for the temperature, as it has cooled to red hot so its shape stands out, but it still glows. The bokeh circle on his eye is also serendipitous. Congratulations.

The second only two glass working photos entered in the contest. This one is a great workshop photo. I especially like the light from the torch reflecting on the shirt and hand. The light on the piece itself (assume it is flash) also works well as it manages to capture the viscous, amorphous texture of hot glass along with providing detail through reflection.

Show me your photos of glass animal figurines. They can be by themselves or part of a still life, but the animal figurines made from glass must be the main subject. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I am looking forward to your submissions.
