Graffiti and Street Art

Open Judging Results
Brief

This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.

Graffiti remains controversial, even though Banksy’s street art has brought a new cachet and air of respectability to the genre, along with a lot of collectors’ money. Graffiti ranges from simple ‘tags’ of the artist’s name, or slogans daubed on walls, bridges and the like, through to elaborate and stunning murals, sometimes with a social or political theme. Shooting work for this contest offers the photographer a good reason to trawl their local town or city looking for interesting street art, in interesting places.

Ranked Contests are a weekly chance to compete alongside photographers of a similar Leaderboard ranking. Three contests with the same theme run at one time - for photographers ranked 1-250; 251-1000; and 1001+. They open Saturday morning after that week’s leaderboard has been updated, and are open for 5 days. They are Premium Contests, Expert-judged, but with no Crowd vote, so are worth 3x the standard ranking points.
