Another great example of colour pop in a winter photo achieved without converting any of the picture to black and white The structure is perfectly positioned in the lower left third and the white blankness of the far lower left corner complements the complexity of the snow covered branches in the upper right, producing a sense of tension that would not have been present in a closer image.
There were several entries of vegetation covered buildings but I felt this one was the best. The subject matter is very interesting and the photo leads the eye from lower right to upper left with its use of diagonals. The saturation level is just enough to add zest to the vegetation without looking artificial. A beautiful image.
This is a lovely, sinuous piece of architecture and the photo captures it beautifully. The cropping at the lower left hap corner produces a sharp angle that complements the curved roof line in the upper right. There is also a very good balance of the near distance portion taking up about three quarters of the image with the middle and far distance showing the overall shape. Combined with the square format, it is an image that leads the eye..
A great image of a familiarly photographed building, emphasizing the roof and its statuary over the well-known turquoise faces. The corner view, whether by choice or just fortuitous, also adds an new look by downplaying the rococo symmetry of many other photos. The lawn green of the roof and vegetation play off the facade colours.
While this building is not spectacular in and of itself, what stood out to me in this picture was the interplay of the colours - the teal of the cottage, the chlorophyll yellow green of the vegetation and the blue sky. It's also a very nicely balanced composition and the choice of an obstructed subject lends additional interest. Congratulations on third place.
This photo stood out to me as a particularly striking use of colour minimalism. The frozen Ottawa River is almost, though no entirely devoid of colouration in contrast to the bright green of the fishing shack. The black window (not sure if it was as photographed or was edited) lends an exclamation point to the photo. While the object itself appears centered, the corner line is very close to one third in from the right edge, giving an interplay of balance between centering and rule of thirds. Congratulations on first place.

I would like to see your colour photos of buildings that are predominantly green in colour. This could be anything from a shed to a skyscraper but please show me all or most of the structure, not just a detail or painted wall. Please only enter full colour images, no colour pop/selective colour. I am looking forward to seeing your interesting architectural images.
While I believe there many have been some editing done to the background,I really liked the black and green contrast in this image. The photo itself is not quite minimalist but it contains a very minimal colour palette which makes the two yellow green shades of the facade really pop out. The geometric positioning also works well.
