Hats

I love the colours and shapes, both in the foreground and background. The composition works really well. I like shape and texure of the hat, and that it covers one eye. Just one small thing to make this image stand out even more, would be to check for critical focus on the eye, as she is engaging the viewer. The lips are a great colour.

I've chosen this one as a winning image because it stood out so well from the other images. Everything has come together for me. I love the square format, choice of black and white. The composition is spot on. The long exposure captures just the right amount of movement. The person on the left feels as though he is looking straight at you, even with the blur.

I love the composition and colour. The yellow hat looks cheerful, and the warm tones work well. The bokeh separates the background from the subject, and leaves nothing to distract the eye.. One improvement I would make, is to be careful of over processing, such as over blurring the face, let the model's natural beauty shine through.

I love the way the moment has been captured, and leaves you wondering what the girl is looking at. The white of the girl's top has tones in it, and not bleached out from the sun, so this is very positive. One improvement I would make would be to crop out the red chair in the background, as your eye is drawn to it. The image would work well as a square.

I love this picture of the young girl. Her hat is so colourful compared to her coat. She has lovely rosy cheeks, and the direct eye contact works well. Another plus is that the eyes are in sharp focus. If I was to have one item to improve, it would be to reduce the heaviness of the black in the background only. The black on the coat is perfect.
