My second favorite season in Hokkaido is autumn because of the vibrant colors that come alive that are a sight worth seeing. In the mountains the forests start turning from green to red, orange, and yellow while the farmers are finishing up their harvest. I really enjoy that your photo instantly brought me back to the feeling of early autumn.

A very different take on an area I am very familiar with as a resident of eastern Hokkaido myself. I like the vibe you are conveying with your images color scheme. I enjoyed seeing the other photos in this series too. Congratulations.

I really enjoy the minimalism of your photo. You exposed the subject very well especially since exposing white objects correctly is hard. The composition of the photo is also excellent in that even though your are zoomed in there is no doubt that your subject is a swan.

You've been able to capture the spirit of historical Hokkaido so well in this image. The high contrast black and white along with the grain in this photo add to the character I see in your photo. This is really spectacular.

Hokkaido is Japan's most northern island and seems so far removed culturally, architecturally, and geographically from what most people view as "Japan". I would like to see your photos of the wildness that is Hokkaido. Photos outside of Hokkaido are not allowed in this contest and as a resident of Hokkaido, I will know if photos are entered showing other parts of Japan or elsewhere in the world. Japanese snow monkeys are not from Hokkaido and images showing snow monkeys will be disqualified from my judging if entered.
