Iconic London

Beautiful, very jealous of this one..... Gorgeous tones and light especially pinks and blues, I assume plenty of postwork with saturation, nice to see off into the distance of Canary Wharf, Lovely smooth water and interest is drawn all over the image with nice composition with the depth of the image buildings on the right and drawn away to the Tower of London........ I have said this before the watermark is distracting especially when the eye is drawn to that corner by the leading lines of the wall - it has its use but not in a contest.... Also please remove the lens spot from above the first two towers on the left..........

There are millions of images of Tower Bridge and I have done a few myself, this one adds way more interest and gives us a lovely clarity, sharpness and depth. Great use of f16, a few glare spots and flares slightly distracting but a lovely version.... Nice interest in the backgrounds and a nice drawing of the eye left and right. The wider lens works well.....

This is lovely - I can see it is a mirrored image which I have no problem with but it distorts the straight lines of the towers and the bridge bases on the right are not lined up, but I have done this many times and I am happy for a creation if its nice at first glance (make sure the first image is straightened first)........ Nice clarity and sharpness and lovely tones and colours.....

Lovely - I was really drawn to this one while making the selections and the fact it is partially obscured by trees made this for me as well as the offset composition - it would be perfect but for the noise/grain in the greys and the slight unsharpness to the bridge, love the b/w choice and that you are drawn into the image. I like the pavement glow and the shadows.....

I have done this one myself, but this is lovely, great leading lines and composition of buildings. Nice long exposure with crystal clarity and wondrous tones. Big fan of urban landscapes and this stands out it's nice to see the not so usual scene very clever well done.........

This really caught my eye and sadly there were many very good images but I just wanted to comment how I really like this and the postwork is very well done. This is always a hard thing to get right a pavement reflection but the flipping up of it is genius and the advert board is the perfect captured moment to this scene. Impressive image and should do well in future contests, very jealous.........

This has been done many many times and there were a few in this contest..... The clarity is impressive and the long exposure is genius.... I would love to have created this and am very jealous. The b/w levels are very clever and the spinning eye is done to perfection.......... Very well done......

A Nice almost HDR image I can see lots of postwork here but creating a lovely image, there is slight grain/noise in places and the work has caused a loss of sharpness and colour pixelation. But viewed on a small screen or phone this stands out nicely, also I have the impression its not quite straight........

Big fan of Canary Wharf to me it is an Icon and creates fantastic images from any part of London and I love to do cityscapes or urban architecture there.... Gorgeous colours and clever low angle with great interest in the foreground... Nice reflections. Would love to have done this one myself.........

This is simply stunning, I really love this and it's the only almost minimal image to make it into the selection. The only issue is the grain for me not a fault and works well - just being picky looking from a distance it's magical... Very well done, unique and as you say 'a different take'. I keep looking and wow the light is beyond gorgeous.........

This was 11th I'm afraid.......The contrast or b/w levels give this a slight feel as If it has been drawn. Nice clarity and some would say its overblown highlights but I like it and I've not seen this angle before with Canary Wharf nice and sharp. I'm guessing it's from a bridge with a long lens. It's a nice night scene with plenty of interest...... If you made a second image from the same location of the left of the river with Tower of London and joined them that would be impressive.......

If there had been a Top 12 this was in it. I love this and it's very impressive, very hard to get a good pano especially at night and this contains multiple icons. Gorgeous clarity and sharpness clever tone choice.. It slightly looses level at the left side but this can be dissected into a few great individual images..........
