A panorama that has a distinct vintage painterly feel. If the bathers where dressed in period costumes they would appear perfectly natural. The colours harmonise well and I like how the bathers are scattered randomly through the image. The main subject of the bathing huts sit well in the frame, they stretch almost across the whole image and have a textured dark backdrop. This makes them stand out even though their colours are mainly subdued with blue and an occasional yellow. Nice work and congratulations on being in my top ten selection.

This image has the illusion of intentional camera movement but the shutter speed and the water pattern would suggest that the effect is carried out in post production. The claustrophobic feeling of looking down this canal is magnified by the horizontal converging linear lines. The blurred effect creates a sensation of instability, but thankfully there is light at the end of the tunnel! It is quite rare to create an emotion in an image, but for me this one has all the ingredients and that is why it is my number one selection. Well done and congratulations.

To fully appreciate the painterly texture that has been applied to this image it is best viewed at full screen. there is a myriad of fine painterly detail in the sky, vegitation and buildings. Fine art impressionist image of a nostalgic English scene at its best. Excellent post production. Well done and congratulations on being in my top ten selection.

For this contest I would like to see your photos in an impressionist style. To create this style you might like to try intentional camera movement, long exposures or the application of textures to the photo in post-processing. The subject matter is open to your choice but please do not take photos of paintings. I hope you have fun and I look forward to seeing your artistic creations.

When I look at this image I feel like I am looking at a painting in a gallery. It is almost minimal but filled with a beautiful analogous palette. One half of the image consists of wall that holds interest due to its swirling brushstrokes, texture and many hues. The furniture and carpet harmonises with the wall, while the sitter harmonises with the framed art. Excellent post production. Congratulations on being in my top ten selection.

An image that has to be viewed in full screen to be fully appreciated. If you start with a great capture you should be able to make a good impressionist conversion. This is exactly what has been achieved in this post production. The orange leaves shimmer, the tree roots look alive and the light beams have a dream effect. Outstanding work and a deserving top ten, congratulations.
