Despite this photo not quite making the brief, as it was supposed to be a close up, with a qualifier of shoulder up, I just love it. I love the edginess of the shot, nice focus on the eyes and the whole face in general. Wonderful black and white tones with the freckles coming out perfectly. I just love it!!!
This is what I love about 35mm. That slight distortion that takes a portrait to another level. This was another photo that had me saying wow when it popped up on my screen. Wonderful details on the eyes with beautiful depth of field, maybe a bit much on the nose, but so many other details on a face that has a story to tell. Another perfect on brief photo.

What strikes is the contrast between the face and the shirt which just adds to this beautiful black and white photo. Perhaps a bit too much shoulder but I am marking that up to the angle as the face is a perfect individual close up. Great focus on the eyes and beautiful depth of field. Another face with a great story to tell.

This is the one photo that when it my screen all I could think of was WOW!!! It portrait photography, especially in individual close ups, the eyes are the most important. They are the windows to the soul and personality of the individual, and here it is nailed perfectly. Just beautiful clarity, focus, and sharpness. Wonderful black and white tones. This was perfectly on brief.

A lot of details in this wonderful black and white photo. The eyes could be a little sharper but in a holistic sense we get a big package here we good details in the eyes, the mouth, forehead, and hair. I also love the tones with the skin softer on any highlights. Well done on the photo and being able to follow the brief perfectly.

I am looking for portrait photos of an individual female, in black and white only. There should be only one individual in the shot. Both eyes have to be clearly visible, so no profile views and be careful with those big droopy hats. Also, as I am looking for facial or close up shots, as a guideline these should be taken from the shoulders upwards, so no environmental portraiture which includes the wider scene. As with all my contests no images of beggars, homeless people, street musicians, or street performers.
