Insects at Any Stage of Life (in colour)

This was a very difficult contest to judge, as there were many spectacular photos! I looked carefully at clarity and composition. I also gave weight to appealing backgrounds. I tried to balance the type and stage of the insects as well. That being said, this photo stood out for me, with its simplicity and beauty. Congratulations on being my top choice!

I absolutely love the goldenness of this photo, from dragonfly to stick, to background. The wings, however, drew this photo over the edge of commendation to top ten. It’s a beautifully composed, sharp image and one to proud of! Thanks for entering my contest.
