Thank you for submitting this image which has a beautiful mood and tone. I love the human interaction with the plants, something which is intrinsic to glasshouses and greenhouses: nature is tended to and observed in these placed. Congratulations on first place!

Thank you for submitting this image which I felt was an original and unusual composition. I appreciate the framing and the readability of the image, as well as the vibrancy, the small human element, and the detail captured. Congratulations on second place!

Thank you for submitting this image which has a very striking use of light and composition. I appreciate the toning, giving rich colour to the fruit and the leaves, which stand out against the blacks in the shadows beautifully. Congratulations on third place!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Greenhouses have a history dating back hundreds of years, and have enabled the production of food that would otherwise not have been possible in that place, or at that time of year. They came into their own during the Victorian era, and range from small cold frames for growing vegetables, through the greenhouses seen in many back gardens, to the vast palm houses that were constructed in many public gardens and parks. Nowadays they also include impressive geodesic domes such as the Eden Project in Cornwall, UK, and the Climatron at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St Louis.
