Before submitting to this contest, please check out this gallery and discussion of <a href="https://www.dailyartmagazine.com/10-most-famous-rayographs-of-man-ray/">Man Ray’s RayographsWhen we’re inspired by something, it sparks ideas, creates jumping off points into our own experiments and explorations. Man Ray’s ‘Rayographs’ might be one of those jumping off points. He experimented producing photograms, where objects are placed on light sensitive paper which is then exposed to light, creating shadows and shapes on the paper. The idea was not a new one, and the Dadaist artist Christian Schad had done the same a few years earlier, and these also found themselves named after him - ‘Schadographs’. This contest will likely call for new imagery to be produced. It doesn’t have to be an exact copy of the method, or even the look, but must simply have been inspired by your reading about and looking at Man Ray’s photograms.
