Beautiful styling. Great expression. Love how the ski detail has jot been blurred/erased - creates a very edgy 'real' feeling like one is actually with the subject. Great expression. Style of image which could be used for fashion campaigns. Lovely piece & super well done.

This is a superb image. Lighting on point. Lots of beautiful triangles throughout the image makes it a joy to view. It was a very tricky decision on the order for 2nd & 1st. The styling is fabulous & takes me back to a tie in fashion which indulges nostalgia. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Very nice indeed. Didn't feel this particular image was 'Rankin' enough to go higher. Potetially may look a little more balance with some shadows brought out on the left arm.Nice expression & pose showing the body shape well. Super well done

Love image!!! Great shapes - nice triangles everywhere. Especially great with an inexperienced model. Tricky to get the faceial expression correct whilst in motion but you've nailed it. Didn't feel the styling was quite right for the 'Rankin' brief. But great high key Rankin finish & lovely work!

It is amazing who one meets on the street. The beauty of having a camera with you. The high keyness of this image is addictive. Can easily see this selling as an art piece. Lips & nostrils need a bit of a tidy if going up as art. But very nice work indeed.

Super lovely images. The hair plait is amazing. Slight disconnect on the styling for me - the fur of the fur coat seems to contradict the clean lines of the dress, the model, the plait & the leaves in a way which is slightly uncomfortable. But overall is a lovely image - well done!

Lovely image! Super high key & clean. Ever so slightly over blown for me on the left cheek & ear. Perhaps a light behind needed switching down slightly? Tiny bit of retouching needed on the eyebrows if being very picky. Overall lovely image - well done.

Big congratulations on the winning image. Felt it was the image with the most 'rankin-ness' whilst retaining the photographer's style too. Would have ideally like to see the background tidied up in places but have overlooked this & weighted towards the models beautiful expression, pose & dtyling of the clasic Rankin high key look. V well done!

Absolutely love this image. Tells a story. Great emotion from the subject & niceky colour graded to give an urban feel. The one thing I'd say is that the position of the fingers is slightly bothersome - not quite sure they lend themselves to to conveying the scene. Super nice piece of work overall though - well done.

IMPORTANT: Please check out this gallery of images before entering this contest. Rankin is a British portrait photographer who has well earned his legendary status in the years since he co-launched Dazed and Confused magazine in 1991. He’s shot in many different styles, but is perhaps best known for studio portraits shot against a plain background, often just head and shoulders, model looking at the camera, harsh light, maybe a ring flash, and a range of expressions that offer a glimpse into the (usually) celebrity sitter. Use Rankin’s signature style as a jumping off point, but take it where you want to, either in or out of the studio. Above all it is about the photographer teasing something out of the sitter, as all great portraiture photography is.

Super love this style of image. The colour palatte of the blue sunglasses & blue shirt with white background & desaturated skin is fabulous. If I was being super picky, I'd edit out the uninspiring reflection of the door in the sunglasses & then it's a lovely art piece. V nice - v well done.

Love this portrait. The model's hair with the model's expression is beautiful. Couple of aspects needed a little improving to go higher - would've been great to pop a light on the subject & taking the image a little high key as per Rankin style.Aldo feel the model's right hand position doesn't add much. But overall very nice piece - well done.

Stunning image! Posture & edit is lovely. Pearl necklace adds a lot to this shot. Fashion campaign material. If I was being unbelievably picky, I'd be tempted to suggest to edit ut the the tuft of hair over top of left ear & tuft centre top of head. Maybe fade the scar showing on on the hand to draw better attention to the subject, but that would be super picky ;) Very well done - love it.

Are we looking at a self portrait of the photographer? Rankin has a portrait or 2 just like this & doesn't look a million miles apart either. Great lighting, lovely expression - it's a portrait which commands the viewer's attention. Very nice piece.
