Irish landscapes and seascapes

Ireland has many old ruins and remnants from its rich History. I like the perspective in this shot. There is a hint of warming light on the gate, a great composition and the ruinous structure behind to fill the frame which draws the viewer in.

A classic and well known shot and of course now made famous by the game of thrones. I simply loved the soft warm light in this shot together with the compression of the ancient beech trees. To be alone with the camera here is, indeed, a lucky moment!

Tranquil, calm, reflective with tones epitomising the Irish landscape. A beautiful landscape with a branch as foreground interest and a little mist in the distance. In my eyes the photograph is well balanced with subtle colours indicative of the Irish climatic regime. A beautiful shot.

Although the light on the horizon is a little blown out the landscape is, nonetheless, typically Irish. The autumnal colours of the bracken, the abandoned school with its almost perfect rectangular wall and a feeling of remoteness made this image stand out. It speaks of rural depopulation and out migration.
