First, I love hat you made this for your mom on Mother's Day. When I think of Japanese food I instantly think of Salmon. And it just so happens that salmon is my most favorite food of all. I love the macro shot. The sesame jumps out at me. I loved that you used cooked salmon as opposed to the typical raw. Thank you

This picture really hit something in me. I love how the dish is the focus. The background is out of focus but matches the color of the dish. It melts together so well. The garnish is the centerpiece of the photo, but it pops green in a photo of yellow. Nice touch. Thank you.

This photo is the real deal. Not only is it the Japanese cuisine but it is captured in the moment of the cooking process. I love how the smoke fills the background of the photo. What an awesome entry. Thank you.

When I think of Japanese cuisine I always think of sushi first. I love how this photo focuses in on the raw piece of fish atop it's rice. I like that chopsticks are a part of the scene. Lighting is perfect. Thank you.

This photo is so creative; I can get behind it. I love the macro and simplicity of the shot. The fact that a sardine can houses little fish, but pop it up and get sushi rolls. So clever! Thank you so much for this entry.

I never knew that cherries had such a strong place in Japanese cuisine until now. I received many cherry photos but this is the best one by far. The focus is awesome. Front row is so clear and the clearness focus fades out as the dishes move backward. The lighting of the cherries is superb. Thank you.
