Jugs

This is a image that I would classify as fine art. Mostly combined of mid tone greys with a delicate color splash for the daisy it allows the eye to flow from the daisy, around the circular rim and down the generous handle and around the carefully folded towel. You can then return along the contrasting straight lines of the table, up the cone and rim of the jug to finish again at the daisy. A beautifully simple but elegant image, carefully constructed, you have managed to control the delicate light to make a satisfying image. Congratulations on being my number one selection.

A beautiful, simple and elegant still life image. A seamless high key background compliments the sensuous shape of the Japanese jug. The touch of pink in the background compliments the delicate fuchsia which is the perfect flower for this jug. The combination of these two elements with the soft shadow make a striking image. This is another image that I would classify as fine art. Mid tone greys with a delicate color splash of tea. Consisting of the classic three elements the eye can follow the forms of these elements around the image without distraction while always finishing at the spilt tea. Excellent soft lighting and composition. Well done and congratulations on making my top ten.

This image was entered in two forms. I preferred this desaturated version. The natural light from dirty cobwebbed windows shows the texture of walls and window sill without any distraction. The image has a nice atmosphere and I can imagine myself standing in this room, which from the items on the ledge appears to be an old garage. I would perhaps have removed the cylindrical object in the bottom right as it tends to draw the eye out of the image. I don't know if you arranged the items or not but they have a natural discarded feel. Excellent natural looking image and congratulations on making my top ten.

An excellent arranged still life with the complimentary blue and orange color pop. I do like the way that you have separated the two groups of oranges by the use of the innocuous grey box. This essentially makes a classic main group of three. The grey mid tones give the image a fine art look. Excellent image, highly commended

I see your intended vision with these jugs and you captured that vision very well. Their abstract form does look like they could be dancers. You have shown just enough light to enhance this form. Very well done, A highly commended image.
