A wonderful eye level shot that makes me feel that I am in the enclosure with these Orangutans. The texture, detail, color and lighting are all perfect. The rear Orangutan slightly out of focus keeping the attention on the main subject. It has the quality of a studio fine portrait shot that was taken under far more difficult circumstances. Great shot and a very well deserved first place.

Meet the judge
An image made with a photographer's eye. While most would have made the crop of the Yorkies head and the hand you have gone the extra step and told a story. On the left the proud champion standing straight, head high, beautifully groomed. Hand perfectly poised to raise the head. On the right the rear end of the defeated, slumped, tail down challenger. A very strong juxtaposition that not everyone will appreciate. Good job with a difficult lighting situation. The complementary red and green are very effective. A well deserved top ten image.
A very strong and eye catching image of two girls. The diagonal composition combined with the symmetrical pose is very striking and gives a sense of togetherness The closed eyes suggests a dream like quality. Filling the outer gaps with the blue dress is also an excellent decision and adds unity to the image. Congratulations on a top ten place.
This is a decisive moment. Capturing the birds just as they crossed so that their eyes are in view and their fans join to form a semicircular unison. Shooting the birds at eye level is an excellent decision and gives a more intimate feeling to the image. The colors and sharpness are spot on. A memorable shot, congratulations on being in my top ten selection.
