Great contest!

The light in this image is just perfect and the reason why I chose this one for the top ten. The first light of the morning provides a gorgeous warmth and lovely tone to this image. This one really caught my eye. Well done!

Absolutely love that the splash and the water droplets are throughout the whole frame. There is real skill needed to get an image of a kingfisher dive this sharp. What a great moment to have captured as well, managing to get her with two fish! Superb - very well done.

Absolutely amazing image! A real 'wow factor'. I love the dark background and the high contrast. Your processing highlights the colours and the detail in the bird beautifully. Stunningly sharp and fantastic capture. The highlight in the wings is just beautiful. Very well done!

I used this photo as the banner for the contest, as it is one of my favourite kingfisher shots I have ever seen. Everything about it is perfect. Fantastic light, pin sharp image and beautiful symmetry. Stunning image - You should be so proud of this one.

I really love this image. It has a wonderful autumnal feel to it - I love the pine cones. The background texture and colours are also just beautiful. A really stunning image that illustrates one of these lovely birds' behaviours perfectly.

I love everything about this image. The detail is incredible - Love that you can see each individual fluffy feather on this lovely plump lady! The colours and light are beautiful. A beautiful image of these amazing birds, with a lovely soft feel.

What an amazingly timed image! Shot framed fantastically to include the reflection. A moment frozen in time and the result is beautiful. This shot showcases your talent as I know how difficult it can be to get a shot like this. Well done.

I love this image. The rain adds a lovely element to an already brilliant shot. I love the muted colours. It can feel necessary to highlight the already vibrant palette of a kingfisher, but this works perfectly in tandem with the dreary weather.

Can't get over the timing of this image! To have captured this image at the precise moment of making contact with the water is so skilful. Processing is great - I like the crop and love the vibrant colours. Obviously taken by a very talented photographer - Well done!

What an incredible image. This one just missed out on my top ten - found it so hard to narrow my top ten down. Getting everything so fantastically sharp is notoriously difficult when shooting these guys. I absolutely love the reflection too. Amazing snapshot of these fantastic birds.

This shot is absolutely amazing. I know and appreciate just how difficult kingfishers are to photograph due to their unpredictability, super high speeds and often elusive nature. This shot is so pin sharp and perfectly captured. Fantastic - Very well done.

Another of my favourites entered into the contest. I love the angle of the shot - front facing - capturing the kingfisher with his catch in all his glory! I especially like the water splash and how sharp everything is. Keep up your great work!

I have not been lucky enough to capture an image of two kingfishers together, and this is just beautiful. Kingfishers can be elusive, so to capture two together so sharply is a fine moment and deserves to be congratulated! So sharp and detailed, with the lovely colours of the birds highlighted wonderfully.

I have so enjoyed seeing the different species of kingfisher as I have only ever seen the common kingfisher here in England. What I enjoy most about this image is the background texture and bokeh. Fantastic vibrant colours and the background adds another layer of interest to this already unusual bird. Fantastic.
