This image tells a full story. The one flying off with the fish, the other one looking at it. Is it irritated, disappointed? Has the fish been stolen from it?

The focus is slightly more on the flying one which I really like. And also the fact that there's just a little bit of blue sky between the two birds give it more depth of field and more of a story.

Nice capture!

Absolutely the winning image for me! It's an action you see often in photos, but a lot of times the face is not properly visible, the eyes are closed or there's just a little bit in focus.

This picture has it all! The dark background and the mirroring in the water make it even better. Absolutely my number one!

I keep watching at this picture. The simplicity, the colours, the depth of field.. the light on its beak and all the little details in the feathers and the moss.

You can see the kingfisher focussing, even more than the camera. :-) A very simple image with a lot of tension in it. Really love it!

Although this moment is really frozen, we all know these little birds move as quickly as they can, even when grooming themselves. So to have a picture like this, very much in focus on all details of the bird: I love it! The depth of field, composition and colours make it even better. Great picture!

I know this little kingfisher is trying to focus on the water below her to catch a fish. But her posing also gives me the idea of sadness somehow.

The afternoon light make her colours stand out even more. The depth of field is really tight, but because the eye is in focus it really works! Also a bit of light in the eye helps.

Stunning picture!
