This is a popular composition of the Roaches with Hen cloud in the distance. All the elements one looks for with a shot of this scene are present! you have the heather, the gorgeous golden hour light illuminating the rocks and to top it off the morning mists completely shrouding half of the background and flowing into parts of the scene.
The mists on the right side really make the rock face stand out crisp and the leading lines from the dry stone wall draw your gaze straight to that point.
It all comes together into one of the best takes on this classic shot that I've ever seen.
I knew as soon as I saw this that it would be in my top 3! A place I've been to many many times but not seen like this!
For me, it's both instantly recognisable but also like it was taken on another planet!
The atmosphere is captivating and really draws you in to explore the image through the mists. It makes you feel cold and the isolation you can imagine was felt by the photographer been surrounded by fog and mists.
Technically the ultra-wide focal length and aspect ratio suits this scene and the conditions perfectly!
The edit is also well balanced and I love the tones. Also of note from your details is the adventure you went on to get this shot! It's not easy getting around in weather like this in the Peak District!
It was tough to choose my number 1 but this just edged it for me!
This image has got me excited for Autumn!
A gorgeous woodland scene with silver birch trees holding onto their golden leaves.
I love the colour in this, with Autumnal images it's easy to add too much saturation and the image start to look unrealistic but also you don't want it to look lifeless as raw files can dull the true tones and colours. It's a balancing act and one the photographer in my opinion has executed very well!
The composition is great with the 3 trees in the foreground and all the colours in the background.
A fantastic shot that has got me excited for Autumn in the Peak!

One of the Peak Districts most iconic gritstone rock formations captured perfectly here!
Really great conditions with the heather looking fresh and vibrant and the mists adding some dramatic mood.
I love this composition with the leading lines of heather and especially the mist directing your eye to the Gritstone rock formation known as the Salt Cellar.
The edit is classy and portrait works really well here!
A very beautiful and unique shot of a very popular place!
