Leaves (but not on trees)

A Lovely image reminds us of a picture from a horticultural book. A stand out image in literally thousands. Very clear and detailed and brilliantly composed and cropped. The butterfly is an addition, not a distraction and completes the image making the mundane outstanding.......

Some will probably disagree with this choice but it 'popped' out at me at the start. It has vibrancy and interest that many lacked, the textures are well considered and the tones and contrasts add to a simple but effective image..... You wander around the image.

I have seen lots of skeleton leaf images but few are 'real' like this one. It's not perfect and not beautiful but its delicate and fragile and a photo is a moment in time that is gone the next and this leaf despite being 'dead' has its moment of eternity......

The image could do with some work but it is the whole concept that stands out amongst the hundreds. There is some loss of detail but with a bit of luminance work, it will clear the noise. The composition is what makes it without the hole and the texture this would not have been considered. The depth of field even though a bit random works for me... Well done......

An original concept that stood out among the crowds. When you are in a contest of thousands you need to jump off the screen and this did it. Unique and well executed. Simple but genius at the same time, well done...

Yes, one of many many droplet images but it is not just the leaf that draws me in here, the mass of drops, the position and style of the leaf, the clarity but overall the tone and feel of the image almost early morning the dull light only makes the water glow from another source. The almost black surrounding is well thought, very nice.

There were hundreds of images with leaves with droplets but this one was unique and a very nice attempt at something different. Not easy to achieve I'm sure but worth the attempt. Be proud you thought beyond the standard concept.....

There were many skeletons, yes but none with a reflection, simple but effective. Just like the other skeleton in the list one of the few that was 'real', not perfect but clever. The background works well and the tight cropping works.....
