Lichens exist throughout the world from storm lashed seashores, to the artic tundra and in rain forests, and a whole range of other habitats. I would like to see images of lichens from your part of the world or from somewhere you have travelled. The lichens should be the clear focus of the image although you may also include the substrate the lichen is growing on.
Your image may be in colour or black and white, and may be macro or give a wider view. You can be creative in your imagery as long as the lichen is the obvious subject. In the interests of fairness I will consider images incorporating watermarks, banners or any other means of identification as being not on brief and would ask crowd raters to do likewise. To add to the viewers interest please indicate in your title or description where the lichen was photographed and any other details you are able to provide.
Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. You can see all the images uploaded to a contest, but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.
Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
