Life in monochrome

This, to me, is a superb image. Capturing life as it still is in parts of Cuba but seen through a frame which on one side is a view from 'classic' to 'classic' - the world within emulated outside. In the right frame we have a street seen with Cubans sitting around, immersed in their world. Almost in a time capsule. It is a gritty image with great contrasts, tones and an inimitable street scene.

This is an image which encapsulates life and atmosphere. The processing is superb and the framing casts people and a carousel into an otherworldly scene. I love the contrasts and tones from black to white and lots of misty shades of grey. Ambience and feeling that life is to be lived and enjoyed. An outstanding shot!

I have seen it before and I will see it again! This is one of the best street images portraying a good laugh, joke or just a moment of camaraderie with friends. The boys have been having fun on the street and the image captures them very sharply and the laughter is almost palpable. A great shot, I love it!

this is quite simply, a wonderful photograph. the hots, immersed in water and the way on which they fade into a mist is just exemplary. it is, as described, a piece of fine art and is superbly processed. An image to truly take pride in.

A remnant of human enterprise, left as a relic but a very symbolic one representing a life gone by. The image has wonderful tonal contrasts and the long exposure enhances the shot. The perspective is excellent and post production superb.

She has accepted her fate! What an atmosphere! The image capture a moment in life which portrays a very human response to the elements, which are out of her control. This is a really great street shot which is emotional and candid. The intense rain shower creates a wonderful atmosphere and, despite the rain, the image is clear and well composed.
