Light and Shadow in Monochrome

I love the composition and range of tones used in this image. The implicity of the composition with very little distractions is complimented further by the fading detail into the misty background which contrasts starkly with the sharp dark bollard. So very cleverly executed and processed, well done!

The simplicity and story telling of this image is fantastic. It leaves the viewer asking questions as to the relationship between the subjects, what's over the wall and where are they are and why. An image I could easily keep coming back to and viewing over and over. Well done.

This is my favourite image on many levels. The image tells such a strong story, with a fantastic central composition leading through the layers to the young tree which contrasts with the larger mature trees. The misty atmosphere has been superbly enhanced by the soft sureal mono conversion. All so very finely executed, well done!

This image stopped me in my tracks when selecting the winners. The composition, range of tones and intensity of light coming through the tree's are all outstanding. Woodland photography isn't easy due to the amount of distractions, it is often the case of being harshly selective as to what you leave out of the images which isn't easy. The mist really helps seperate your main tree from the background. So very beautiful!

I want this image as a print on my wall. It's one of those classically beautiful Tuscan landscape images, but it's refreshing to see the image presented in a mono format. The mono format makes it look like a dream land floating in the clouds, and the light is just superb. Well done!

Just down the road from me, so thank you for providing details in the description, I wouldn't have known this if you hadn't of detailed this. I love the light and direction of the character, it's all so very natural and believable. I love how you've created details and textures by bringing highlights in on the machinery cogs which leads superbly to the worker and window. Beautiful work.

This is fantastic and very clever. It takes a brave photographer to shoot and crop in so close.
