A perfectly composed shot where the photographer has used the light to maximum effect. The photographer has also waited until the singer has struck a certain pose that seems to perfectly fit the framing as she looks up into the shafts of light coming down on her; the light hitting her in such a way that it shows only the outline of her body, leaving the rest sillhouetted.. The colours thoughout the image are also very interesting. Well done!.
Wow - that's picture power!. what a striking image!. The photographer has caught the performer at the perfect decisive moment where he is at his energetic peak; face and body contorted and in full flight suspended in the middle of a cloud of smoke/dry ice, complete with rays of light coming at him from all angles. i also like how the photographer has cut out the stage floor for maximum flight mode. A really striking image that captures the raw energy from a live gig. Congratulations!
A perfect photograph that captures the raw energy of a gig, and in this case by showing the intimate relationship the singer can have with his audience that only a live gig can give you. With the use of a long lens at head height, the photographer transports you right into the heart of the action as the singers is "surfing" along the top of the adoring crowd. The photographer has also captured the moment the singer seems to look over into the direction of the lens, whilst an arm comes into shot, grabbing him as he moves along the top of the forest of hands and fingers holding him aloft. The wide aperture means that this technically perfect picture also throws out the background so as to enhance the subject. A brilliant image that would grace any big double-page spread in any top quality publication. Congratulations!.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked 1001+ in this week’s Leaderboard.** Capturing the raw energy and emotion of live music can be a joy, and many photographers are drawn to it. As well as the musicians themselves, the live music scene is rich with colourful characters, crowds and venues. Photographing live music comes with its challenges - not least, balancing the lubrication of one’s creative faculties, with still being able to operate your camera.
