Living Bats

What a delightful surprise to find this sweet little bat under some wood. I really like the focus on this image with the sharpness on the face and rest falling into blur. Very cute little fella I'm glad he stayed put for a photo.

Congratulations on 1st place! There were several great shots of bats dipping themselves in water entered into this contest. But this one stood out as the best one because of the wonderful bright colors on the water and background, an excellent splash, and the bat caught in a really pleasing pose. This bat has a sense of determination and grace. Even though this image isn't technically perfect, with a few things that could be better, it is just a stunningly beautiful and dramatic image that highlights what wonderful creatures bats are. Nicely done!

This bat was caught in a very nice pose. It really shows how unusual bats are with their lack of arms, but amazing wings. This image reminds me of hummingbird photo, but here we have an adorable bat. Quite wonderful. Very nicely done.

This little guy highlights how adorable bats can be. He is quite cute and innocent looking. Amazing job focusing in on that eye, it really grabs the attention. The fur texture was also very well captured and makes this little look just as cuddly as kitten. Great lighting. Very sweet photo. Nice job!

The eye looking at the camera is what made this image extra special. This little seems to consider what to do next after being caught in the sudden flash of light. Will the flower remain the target or will this little one seek food elsewhere? Very sharp well focused image. A nice composition.
